BWT’s Christmas 2013 charity campaign

... for people in urgent need

18.12.2013 15:00   Mondsee

In line with BWT’s mission ‘For You and Planet Blue’, this year’s beneficiaries of BWT’s Christmas charity fund are disaster victims, people with disabilities and those who are in poverty. BWT’s donation is 100,000 Euros.

As part of the 2013 Christmas campaign BWT is giving support to people who are suffering from catastrophic disruption to their lives and fearing for their future, those with disabilities and those in extreme poverty. A sum of 50,000 Euros will therefore be donated to the charity ‘Licht ins Dunkel’ (Light into Darkness) and a further 50,000 Euros to ‘Nachbar in Not’ (Neighbour in Need) will be allocated to helping people in the Philippines affected by the Haiyan typhoon disaster – the 7th November storm claimed several thousand lives and made more than 4 million people homeless.

Andreas Weißenbacher says: "For BWT, ‘For you and Planet Blue’ means thinking about the weakest in our global society and assuming our share of responsibility for them. As Christmas is a turning point in the annual cycle, it should also represent a turning point in the fortunes of millions of people. BWT would like to make a positive contribution to this."
