Wherever water flows, drips or stands, limescale is developed. This is due to the calcium and magnesium ions, which are responsible for the hardness of water. The result is: calcified pipes and water installation systems, which may cause enormous consequential costs for each operator.
The proven ion-exchange column of our water softening system, which is also called resin column, is filled with special resin. 'Hard' water flows through it and the calcium and magnesium ions solved in the water are removed in a natural way by which the water is softened. During regeneration the special resin is purified with a light saline solution so that the calcium and magnesium ions are solved again and can be drained with the flushing water.
