National Design Award 2011 for BWT Rondomat Duo water softening system
BWT – Best Water Techno-logy, Europe´s number 1 in water technology – is awarded the Austrian National Design Award 2011. The Award is as-signed by the Federal Ministry of Economics for outstanding design. The high profile jury honoured BWT in the category „capital goods". The award ceremony took place on Sep-tember 28th in the Vienna Museumsquartier. formquadrat GmbH is the designer of the first-rated system.
The award is assigned on a biennial basis by the Federal Ministry underlining the significance of design in economy, society and culture. Ten of a total of 176 submissions were nominated for the prize within three categories. BWT large softener series Rondo-mat Duo S was assigned the National Design Award in the cate-gory „capital goods“. The jury´s judgment highlighted the timeless and compact design as well as the efficient use of resources. „After winning the Innovation Award of Upper Austria for our Magnesium Mg2+-table water filters, the National Design Award for our large softener Rondomat Duo S gives another evidence for BWT products setting trends in the industry. We are pleased with this Award for the Rondomat Duo S, a state-of-the-art and sustainable product“, comments Andreas Weißenbacher, Chief Executive Officer of BWT. Design veteran Professor Dieter Rams presided over the international jury.

The system excels in the efficient and de-mand optimised operation in particular.
