Responsible use of water resources

Grey water treatment

Decades of population growth and industrialisation have led to increasing levels of water pollution and a decline in global water reserves, so water recycling has become a central issue for the international hotel industry. Stricter legal requirements for environmental protection, especially regarding the availability of independent fresh water sources, have made grey water treatment a top priority for this sector.

BWT is committed to both water recycling and the responsible use of water resources, and has developed the most up-to-date technologies to support it:

  • Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR)
  • Membrane Bioreactor (MBR)

The technology is based predominantly on bio-mechanical purification, such as biomembrane filtration, and delivers substantial benefits to the hotelier in terms of:

  • Sustainable use of water resources
  • Independence from fresh water reserves

  • Environmental protection
