BWT takes over water pitcher business Anna

Mondsee, October 4, 2006

BWT – Best Water Technology Group – takes another step forward in the Point-of-Use (PoU) water technology market by acquiring the water pitcher business Anna, Atlanta (USA), via an asset deal. At the Point-of-Use, water treatment takes place at the water tap in contrast to the Point-of-Entry (PoE), at which water treatment is done at the residential entry point of the water pipeline. “With Anna, we win a leading player in an attractive growth market and are able to speed up our expansion strategy,” comments Andreas Weissenbacher, CEO of BWT. In 2005 Anna generated sales of EUR 7.1mn and a double-digit EBIT-margin.

Anna filters provide optimal enjoyment of water, tea, coffee and cold drinks. Besides reducing chalk, Anna filters remove chlorine, organic substances, eg pesticides, and heavy metals like lead, copper and zinc from the water. Additionally, Anna offers also filtration of nitrates from the drinking water. The company´s Value-for-Money philosophy of success supplying high quality at fair prices has made Anna a leading player in the European market within a short period of time.

The product portfolio comprises nine water pitcher models and three filter versions enabling customers to choose the best appropriate filter solution for differing water qualities. The filters are currently offered in 25 European countries which all hold considerable growth potentials.
